I have been teaching special education students for three years. I am aware of accommodations and modifications that are specified for each student. I know which techniques and strategies to use tot each students with different exceptional ties. First, I like to determine a student's learning styles. Not all student learn the same. There are visual learners who learn by looking and writing. There are tactile learners who learn by doing and moving around (hands-on activities), then there are auditory learners who learn from hearing the information. I accommodate all styles int he classroom, but when tutoring, I assess the child by doing a learning style inventory which allows me to determine what style that particular child has.
