Due to my background in early childhood, I teach using hands-on manipulative based strategies. Before I began my professional teaching career, I worked for the Read Across America program helping young learners gain an appreciation for reading. I mentored elementary students who were labeled at risk due to low performance in reading. In 2001, I began teaching pre-k in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2005, I relocated to Houston and began teaching kindergarten in Ft. Bend ISD. I taught 4th grade Math and Science for 2 years. Currently, I work as a 2nd grade ESL inclusion teacher.
