Aside from my bachelors degree in Architecture in which I studied and used AutoCAD, I have over 6 years of professional CAD experience, ranging from simple 2d layouts and basic functions up through sophisticated 3d modeling. I have worked in small architectural businesses, large construction firms, and currently work as the sole CAD draftsman for a large renowned food company's engineering department. I prefer to teach by interaction by which I mean walking you through the steps as you complete them versus lecturing. I believe that hands on experience is the best way to help things stick when it comes to AutoCAD. Subject material can be confusing and very intimidating. I speak from experience. When I tutor students, I ask where they feel they need the most help and where they are doing well, to help them with their uncertainties and increase their confidence. Instead of just giving the students the answers, I will show them where to find the answers. Once the student works out the problem with I, I instruct the student to try a similar problem without my help, to deepen their grasp of the material, and to show them they can do it.
