Experience Summary
I have been teaching on and off through my college years. I was a sub teacher at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf for couple of years. I started my studies at Gallaudet University, my side job was a sub teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf and Kendall Demonistration Education School for couple of years. During my graduate studies, I was an educational assistant for English Language Institute at Gallaudet and part time rock climbing staff at Physical Education & Recreation department. When I am studying my 2nd masters, I was a Residental Educator of American Sign Language House for 1 year and taught ASL 1 for one semester. Since I moved to California I taught ASL 1 and/or 2 at Stanford University, Ohlone College, and San Mateo Community College. Also, been doing tutoring as a side job. Right now, I am a 5th grade teacher at school for the Deaf.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is bilingual- Use ASL and English.
I believe in hands-on experiences.
Straight communication without 3rd party to interpret. If can't sign, we can use the paper and pen or ipad word to communicate.
