Experience Summary
Hi, My name is Lisa. I have taught and tutored American Sign Language to children of all ages and adults from beginners to experienced signers for about 15 years. Also, I work for Sorenson video relay service in which demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson standards and policies, FCC regulations and the RID Code of Professional Conduct. Demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson Communications. I am also a mother of 5 children(they are all grown up now), I must include them since I have taught them to sign language as well.
I have the first-hand knowledge of my native language on ASL linguistics, history, Deaf culture. As an introduction to American Sign-Language, start with the basics. teaching the alphabet, numbers, and how to say your name. For more the experienced individuals, I will ensure that you will gain a strong vocabulary and, Facial Expressions, Classifiers that will lead you into more of a conversational form of communication in American Sign Language.
Teaching Style
My lessons are custom to fit your abilities. I feel that is important rather than throwing a list of lessons that may not work for you. It's more important that you are comfortable learning a new language or if you have some experience with the language but need to clarify on your past experiences. Either way, I will work with you to help you to the next level.

I am a professional sign language interpreter for 25 plus years. I am also a CODA which stands for Child of Deaf Adults, which means that American Sign Language is my first native language. English is my second language.
