Experience Summary
I volunteered tutor for over 4 years throughout college and high school, I have worked with students from as young as 5th graders to as old as Seniors in high school. During my sophomore year, I was hired as a Program Director for Let's Get Ready after school program is providing both SAT and College Admissions Counseling where I received extensive training to provide these services to intercity youth. I also interned at Neuhaus Education Center here in Houston, where I took multiple literacy, composition and education courses for students with Dyslexia and ESL. I am currently a Masters student studying to be a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Family Therapist.
Teaching Style
I practice a strength based model, tapping into students interest and strengths to provide key support in their learning process. I invite collaboration in discovering their learning strengths in order to find the method to help their study process and try to keep my methods flexible to fit each students learning needs.
Other Comments
I am a learning disability student who is familiar with not only ADA regulations, but college admissions process. I can help parents navigate the complex world of college as a learning disability student.
