Experience Summary
I am an experienced tutor who has worked several jobs with an array of students - ranging from developing my own daily lesson plans to teach a kindergartener how to read and do basic math, to helping a business professional learn Microsoft Excel to complete tasks at work - with an uncountable number of tutoring sessions both privately and through learning centers in between. The subjects I am most proficient in are math, science, SAT test prep, and reading/language arts, but I have also have gotten good reviews from tutoring subjects within the engineering, social studies, and elementary education domains. I have a true passion for academia, and I find great joy in tutoring and helping others on their educational journey.
Teaching Style
Being high-achieving myself, I have the personal belief that there is no limit to the amount of potential a student has. Reaching any academic goal can be done with discipline, hard-work, and confidence. I try to instill confidence in my students and help them with organization and study skills that help them feel strong in their own capability to succeed. I am very versatile, and I attempt to match my teaching style to the needs and learning style of the student. I aim to understand the goals of the student to determine the main objective of the session, and I always make sure the session ends with a "game plan" to give students direction outside of tutoring.
My Hobbies
Singing, taking trips to nature, spending time with family and friends, reading, journaling, cooking, listening to live music, watching poetry events, exercising, engineering projects around the house, swimming, going to the beach, practicing meditation/yoga, and seeing the variety life has to offer!
