Experience Summary
I am a professional tutor with experience tutoring students from elementary school to freshmen in college. I was a teacher for 18 years, focusing on writing, classical literature, and reading comprehension. I have taught all grades from 6-12 and have passed the elementary education exam. I was a teacher leader, in charge of providing training in teaching strategies and lesson planning at two International Baccalaureate schools.
Teaching Style
I believe that children should be treated with the respect with which I would want to be treated, and thus do my best to not talk down to students. I tend to ask students questions to help them come to a conclusion. I believe that any task can be made to be enjoyable and that learning should not feel like a chore.
My Hobbies
I love reading, especially YA. I like art and am very crafty.
