Experience Summary
I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry which I earned from St. Louis University in Missouri. I am a full-time, dedicated tutor. I have experience with teaching at Daytona State College. I am also a certified high school chemistry teacher and working on my MS in chemistry. I have helped many students in various disciplines ranging from high school chemistry to general chemistry at the college level. I have also helped students improve their grades in college algebra, SAT Prep, anatomy and physiology and many other subjects.
I want to spark an interest in the sciences by teaching science and math students at all levels from elementary to middle and high school, and even college. I want you to learn to love science and appreciate it. It is not as hard as you think and it can be a lot of fun.
Teaching Style
My teaching motto is patience, trying different methods to explain a problem and the use of technology to augment understanding. I use visuals such as chemistry models and tablets to help understand certain concepts. I have a child who has ADD and Asperger's. I know how unique and gifted these kids are, and I understand that they need to be enthused about the subject in order to succeed in it. I am a career chemist who fell in love with chemistry as a high school sophomore, because I myself had an awesome teacher who I looked up to. I try to build relationships with students to guide them and encourage them in their own futures to be the highest achievers.
