Experience Summary
I am multilingual, have MA in Linguistics and Education and most of my life worked as a college level teacher of foreign languages and a medical/legal interpreter. I taught English and French in Russia and then Russian as a Foreign Language in the US (Bridge Linguatec). I come from a dynasty of teachers. My mother always said: “There are no bad students, only bad teachers”. As a result I grew up seeing my students’ success as my own personal challenge. Over years I developed a teaching style which proved to be working quite well.
Teaching Style
First and foremost I believe in maintaining a friendly and positive atmosphere in the classroom. Students must feel comfortable and encouraged to speak up and not afraid to make mistakes, which can be used as opportunities to point out misconceptions.
I strive to keep classes memorable and exciting, making sure students are engaged and interested, which can be attained by bringing up captivating relatable topics and providing sufficient personal attention to each student.
I find it extremely important to show respect to my students and do everything I can to help them feel empowered and encouraged, not only in learning languages but everything they do. My passion goes beyond teaching languages and culture; I believe I possess powers to help people be the best versions of themselves.
My Hobbies
Film, art, literature, travel.
