Experience Summary
I have taught high school subjects in English and the Social Sciences as a public school teacher for over 25 years both in the classroom and in Learning Labs where I worked one on one with students. I am currently a tutor volunteer for School on Wheels in downtown Los Angeles which serves the homeless population, as well as still a full-time teacher. I have taught numerous types of students including adults, high school students, and at risk youth. I developed a rapport with all these different groups of students. I have also been a professional reporter and editor, and have worked in political campaigns and organizations both as paid and as a volunteer.
Teaching Style
I like to adapt my teaching style to that of the student. I am trained in identifying the different learning modalities of students. I am result-oriented and work towards a specific goal such as increasing a skill and/or grades. I am personable and relate to students and build on his or her strengths as well as identifying and correcting weaknesses.
My Hobbies
I enjoy reading, watching movies and documentaries, working out, and attending concerts.

I can help with migrating from Windows to Macintosh and in running both on the Mac. I will also show you how you can use a Macintosh and seamlessly be able to communicate with those running Windows or use a Mac at home and communicate with your work Windows computer. (I use Windows at work). |
