Experience Summary
I am an Ocean Engineer current working in the offshore industry. I taught undergraduate civil engineering and college level math courses full time from 2004 - 2006. Between 2007 and 2012, I was a researcher in coastal and offshore engineering at Texas A&M University where I completed my masters and doctorate degrees. Since I rejoined the industry in 2013, I have been teaching offshore engineering courses part time to industry engineers. Over the years, I have developed very effective teaching skills aimed at high productivity of my students.
Teaching Style
I've found interactive teaching very effective, so that's my overall approach. I set out clear learning outcomes before each topic, and design exercises and problems that address those objectives to the last detail. Ultimately, my students achieve the objectives or learning outcomes from each topic in a way that gets them rooted in fundamentals and procedures needed to advance in current and future courses.
My Hobbies
Soccer, running, movies and traveling.
