Experience Summary
I have been a peer tutor and mentor during all of my years in school and several years after completing law school and passing the Bar exam. I have an incredibly broad scope of knowledge and wealth of information culled from diverse interests, formal education, and independent study.
4.0GPA, summa cum laude, University of Central Florida. Published research thesis, contributor of articles and seminars ranging from wellness to legislative/statutory updates.
I am available for sessions with students of almost any grade/subject matter/project as well as a consultant to professionals looking to maximize marketing in original and attention grabbing avenues.
I specialize in tutoring pre-law & criminal justice students, guiding them through the long process to&through law school. Themes for personal statements, study hacks, and strategic exam-taking skills.
Current law students: Tutor many of the classes, explaining and demonstrating test design/scenario simulation so students are able to confidently greet and beat exams, presentations, and assignments.
I have created a unique system to understanding and dominating any project or standardized test looming ahead.
I teach from a place that embraces past mistakes as the most valuable lessons one can have.
Knowledge is power regardless of its source; my shortcomings, coupled with the positive steps I took to correct them, give my students a road map of sorts in their own studies. I am frequent guest speaker in various forums and volunteer my time and abilities to assist disadvantaged or recouping individuals seeking to launch new projects/careers. I am tirelessly committed to getting those I work with from "struggle" to "strive" into "success!" I am available for research projects as well as standard sessions
Teaching Style
The single most important thing in learning and/or teaching is communication, effective communication, which connects student to subject matter. Every one learns differently and I am extremely versatile in methods of conveying information. I employ pop culture parallels, movie references, humor, and characterizations to the most mundane of problems, which is somewhat common amongst instructors. So what makes me different, why should you hire me? Because I make learning exciting and fun. I often tell a narrative, creating an amusing storyline utilizing the components of the problem, as a method of solution, or as manner of elimination/explanation.
This brings static tasks to life, keeps the student interested and involved. There is a very strong correlation between the students who actively participate in this style of instruction and those students who excelled afterwards in the related task/subject.
For every constructive comment or correction, I find and share at least 2 positive acknowledgements to encourage continued efforts. I don't keep my sessions on a stopwatch; I'm in it to win it with whomever I am working with. Reviews on Avvo reflect my dedication to clients needs while empowering them through thoroughness and reassurance. You and yours are capable of so much more than is known; let's kick "mediocre" to the curb, pass "great" on the way, give a nod to "achievement," and embrace getting "the competitive edge."
My Hobbies
Learning new subjects/topics/areas of inquiry. Running, rock climbing, photography, and design.
