Experience Summary
I have had experience interpreting in the educational setting in Every grade, including college classes. I have also had the experience to work with many children who have challenges other that deafness. I have done freelance interpreting in the Akron and Cleveland areas. I have tutored parents with deaf children, high school students who are taking ASL as a foreign language and people that just want to learn sign language as a hobby. I have been in the high school setting for the past 13 years. I have two young children of my own that are hearing and I am always teaching them new signs.
Teaching Style
I believe that sign language can be fun, interesting and very challenging. I like to laugh while learning but I do not like to waste time. I will make sure all questions are answered to the best of my knowledge and if I don't know an answer I will find out. I will also be professional and always hold up the Interpreter Code of Ethics.
