Experience Summary
I have worked at Utah Valley University Academic Tutoring Lab, tutoring Science and developmental math from June 2009 to August 2014. I have private tutored Latino students, disabled students, and all other students that "dropped in" to the Science Tutoring Lab at UVU. I have taught and tutored geology, meteorology, oceanography, and been a Teachers Assistant for chemistry and meteorology. I have been a private tutor for Isotope Geochemistry and Chemistry. I taught Chemistry, Engish, and American Government at Harmony Educational Charter School from August 2013 to May 2014.
Teaching Style
My style is to build confidence in the student by teaching positive thought processes, study skills, learning techniques, and a strong work ethic. I assist students to believe in themselves and provide them with tools that give them a perspective.....that they can succeed with well directed effort. I recognize certain learning styles and work with the particular students learning style, e.g. such as a visual learner by providing visual aids.
My Hobbies
Providing nutritional and emotional support for my eight children. Hiking, biking, swimming, skate-ski, triathlon training and racing, and gardening.
