Experience Summary
After receiving my elementary teaching experience at a well-known tutoring center, I worked as a volunteer adult education tutor of reading and math. I have been a private tutor specializing in SAT prep and math for almost five years. As a professional editor and proofreader, I gained my experience in English grammar and writing. My other professional experience includes accounting and university administration.
Teaching Style
Do you have math anxiety? Not after working with me! We work at a pace the student is comfortable with. You may find that math can actually be fun. I have a talent for motivating students and a passion for teaching. We try different techniques until we find what works best for each individual. I use a white board for extra clear explanations, flash cards, games, apps, and special worksheets. I enjoy getting to know my students personally so I can focus on their strengths and build on what they already know in order to increase confidence.
Other Comments
Unlike some other tutors, I am not doing this as a side activity. As a full-time tutor, my clients get my undivided attention. I am passionate and dedicated to my work, always organizing and researching ways to improve my presentation. I absolutely love what I do, and it shows in my students' results. Most of them have an improved attitude toward math and academics in general after working with me.
