Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature. I also have obtained an AA with a double major in Psychology and Art. I have spent several years tutoring students of all ages in Reading, Writing, English, Study Skills, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology and Art. I have had great success in teaching students to learn in their own way, at their own rate, and provide them with the tools they need to achieve their educational goals.
I have worked in Healthcare for over twenty years in a wide variety of fields, and have even helped students apply and be accepted to Nursing School and Radiology Technician programs by assisting them in creating essays that portray their passion and dedication to their prospective fields. I have provided extensive tutoring in Anatomy & Physiology, Biology and Medical Terminology, as well as developing individual study tools and skills that best fit each student.
I have tutored students in all aspects of Reading and Writing, whether it is a book report or a college term paper. I focus not only on reading the material, but on understanding and retaining the material as well. I am proficient in all areas of English Literature, as well as Creative Writing, both fiction and non-fiction. My Math studies have surpassed the level of Probability and Statistics and I am comfortable tutoring students in Basic Math and Algebra. I have spent many years volunteering in the field of Art Therapy, and am a strong believer in creative expression in any form.
Students are encouraged to play an active part in their tutoring by voicing their opinions and ideas. I find that in doing so, they become excited about learning and succeeding in the subjects that they are struggling with.
