Experience Summary
I have been tutoring and teaching elementary and high school mathematics for many, many years. I graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics Education; I taught in the New York city high schools, teaching geometry, algebra,& trigonometry for several years. I then relocated to South Florida where I have been for many, many years.
In Miami, Flordia I taught Math for the Alexander Montessori schools using the Montessori methods, as well as traditional methods for teaching. I also taught for Gulliver Prep School in their school which caters to Learning Disabled students as well as students with ADD & ADHD for more years. I have tutored many students at all levels, including 2nd through 12th grade.
During the years I resided in Miami, I taught Insurance at the University of Miami, for 11 years. I also taught a course called: “Overcoming Math Anxiety”. Some students always suffer from this distress.
I am currently tutoring students in Geometry, Algebra2 and SAT preparation.
Teaching Style
My style is informal; I have much patience, but require that the student does the work. There may be homework assignments for the student to fulfill in order that they have as much practice as possible. I am by no means rigid. I have taught many students, from gifted to learning disabled during my long career.
My Hobbies
Sewing, needlepoint, reading, cooking.

Geometry is sometimes a big challenge for high school sophmores; but with good attention to detail and work, students can do very well with it. |
Pre-Algebra |

Middle school subject; introduces concepts of algebra to students. |
Trigonometry |

Trigonometry is the major pre-requisite for calculus. Students need proficiency in the earlier Math courses to embark upon this subject. |
