Experience Summary
I am very experienced in creative writing, journalism, and all phases of editing for academia and general interest. I have had a blended career in teaching, magazine journalism, freelance writing, editing for publication, non-profit administration, and advocacy communications. I have hired, mentored, and coached student interns and staff for two non-profit organizations I co-founded. I began as a substitute teacher in English/Language Arts. I have also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) School of Architecture, Planning and Fine Arts. In December 2014, I will complete my Master's thesis in transpersonal studies.

I am a parent of a high school student and have served as a volunteer in the classroom and on school councils. I believe I am current with curriculum standards, requirements, expectations, and challenges for teenagers. I am a returning student in school, after many years, and current with writing and citation styles, such as APA, MLA, AP, and Chicago Manual of Style. I work with a charitable foundation on multicultural understanding and communication.
