Teaching Style
I am flexible, enthusiastic, and patient. I prefer to review their previous homework and perform guided practice on assigned and unassigned problems. Feedback is important! We take turns explaining concepts and answer to one another to be certain that the student understands. In addition to my direct tutoring, I direct students to additional resources that can help them learn. I enjoy motivating students to try their best and to get them to care about the subject, as much as possible, by explaining how the topic can be useful somehow. I enjoy beginning with the big picture: "Why are we learning this?". Once we understand why we must learn the subject, it is easier to get to learning and not just memorizing.
My Hobbies
Tennis, boogie boarding, and scuba diving.
Other Comments
I am passionate about helping people and preferentially work with the medical field. I have a wide range of academic interests, from biology and psychology, to language and history. I have a knack for sciences and chose biostatistics for what it can do to improve our lives. Not everyone likes math, and I understand that. My wide range of interests makes be better able to connect with students that are not fond of math.
