Experience Summary
Veteran AP and SAT teacher with 25 years of secondary public education experience. I recently retired to finance and develop Writer's Key, an independent tutoring agency specializing in ACT and SAT testing strategies. My goal is to match specific teaching strategies with individual students so they can reach their full academic potential. ALL of my students become writers...the "key" to critical thinking, test preparation and college success.
Teaching Style
I use a diagnostic SAT practice test as a benchmark and as an assessment tool. Then, I develop a set of teaching techniques and develop a strategic plan for achieving each student's academic goals. For example, if the student needs a specific score to qualify for college entrance, we work the practice tests until they score in the target range.
My Hobbies
When I am not tutoring students, I enjoy reading, researching family history, gardening and biking.
