Experience Summary
I'm currently a Junior at the University of Delaware studying Spanish Language and Exercise Science. My specialty is Spanish, but I'm also quite good at helping others figure out what helps them study. As someone who has struggled with ADD, I know the challenges that come from sitting down and staying focused. That being said, I know how to overcome these challenges and how to turn them into advantages. I learned Spanish from a friend that moved to the U.S. from Venezuela and have been in love with the language ever since. I only have four classes left to complete the major and plan on doing a Physical Therapy internship in South America next January. I was recently inducted into the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi.
Teaching Style
I believe that learning by doing is the best way to retain information. I try to engage my pupils as actively as possible with fun activities that encourage them to give me their best efforts.
My Hobbies
Springboard Diving, Gymnastics, acrobatics, bicycling, swimming.
Other Comments
It might be of interest that my parents are a school psychologist and a psychiatrist. Between the two of them, I have very good resources for advice on how best to work with any kind of pupil I may encounter. My mother, the school psychologist, could be an especially useful resource or reference if needed.
