Experience Summary
I have a Masters degree in Chemistry from Portland State University. I have cumulative 10+ years of work experience in diverse academic and research positions in universities and pharmaceutical companies in India and United States. I find breaking down complex scientific ideas into bite-sized chunks to be extremely rewarding, especially when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they make attain a new level of understanding. From my experience as a high-scoring chemistry student at University, as well as being a professor I know how to train students to not only understand the questions fully but to give the appropriate answers in tests and other assessments. Chemistry is a subject that many students find difficult, and I relish the opportunity to make it easier!
Teaching Style
I love to teach classes in chemistry . When I clarify a difficult concept, it is always rewarding to see a twinkle of understanding in my student's eyes. I firmly believe that what I am today is because of my teachers, who took time to patiently explain the basic scientific concepts to me. You can learn almost anything if you understand the basics. My doors are always open to curious minds!
My Hobbies
1. Completed a six-year course on Vocal Classical Music, ‘Sangeet Visharad Final,’ from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, with Distinction, 1997.
2. Passed a ‘Madhayama Pratham’ degree in the Indian classical dance ‘Bharatnatyam’ from the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharv Mahamandal, Mumbai, in First Class, 1992.
3. Inter-school volley-ball team member and won many awards in swimming at the school level, 1992-1997.
4. Awarded State award for Scouts & Guides from Bhopal region,Madhya Pradesh,1994.
