About Me

Experience Summary

Over the past 9 years, I have taught mathematics and finance to various private groups and at several levels, ranging from basic mathematics to advanced university math courses. For example: 1). I currently teach Stochastic Processes for Actuaries at Columbia University. This is a Masters course involving advanced mathematics and finance 2). I have taught Actuarial Math for the first three Society of Actuaries exams 3). I have embarked on a project to provide intensive tutoring in mathematics, starting with Grade 6 Algebra and progressing to College Calculus

Teaching Style

The material is divided into modules/chapters. The starting modules assume you know very little (next to nothing) about the subject. The topics are introduced in a manner that relates to things you already know. From there we proceed together, step by step, to the more complex matters, always building on material we have already mastered. It is my opinion, based on experience, that any interested person can master mathematical concepts and apply them to various fields of endeavor.

My Hobbies

Listening to Classical Music; Travel

Other Comments

In addition to downloaded material, questions and problems over and above the downloaded material can be addressed one-on-one via the internet. This is suitable for all students needing help and remedial support or refresher on materials related to mathematics.
