Experience Summary
Have been tutoring students since middle school, but professionally since my Undergrad at MIT. I've tutored hundreds of students over the years, particularly in the higher level math and sciences and with SAT/ACT, SAT II and other test prep. I genuinely enjoy working with students 1 on 1. In the past, I have taught in public schools, taught home-schooled students AP level courses, ran a small tutoring center and started a small private school. My specialty is working with students that are 2e (Twice Exceptional, Gifted with learning differences) and highly gifted and motivated students. I enjoy working with students with learning differences.
Teaching Style
Over the years I've found that teaching is more about relationships than it is about the material. If a student and teacher have a good working relationship, there is trust and they enjoy working with each other, learning the material comes so much easier. I work to make sure students are really understanding underlying concepts, that they have all the requisite knowledge to be successful as they move forward, but most importantly that they are building confidence and taking control of their learning along the way.
