Experience Summary
I hold a BS in Entomology with a minor in Zoology, which has given me an in-depth understanding of biology, chemistry, and mathematics. While attending the University of Florida I taught an introductory entomology lab, which allowed me to begin to hone my verbal and written communication skills. I later earned a Master's degree in Education in 2011. This graduate degree required a great deal of in-classroom work with students and mentoring work with teachers.
Teaching Style
My ultimate goal when teaching is to present a student-centered, inquiry-based curriculum. This teaching style is ideal for the tutoring environment. I try to provide hands-on opportunities with the material given whenever possible. As an individual, I am easy-going with my students, while still expecting their best every session. I believe a solid student-teacher relationship is an important pillar to academic success.
My Hobbies
Gardening, community co-ed sports, reading, outdoor adventures
