Experience Summary
As a former senior congressional staff, I worked very closely with Members of Congress to ensure the success of their term and their reelection. In addition, I have worked on Gubernatorial and Presidential elections. My experience is not limited to one geographic region of the United States but extends internationally to Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Most recently, I worked to help pass the Maryland Dream Act. I trained campaigners to identify, educate and register new voters which resulted in increase voter participation in the Latino, Asian, and African-American communities as well as with newly naturalized citizens and students. Within a 15 week period, I coordinated with local communities, school districts, and non-profits to identify, educate, register and mobilize voters in underserved and underrepresented areas by successfully meeting and exceeding expectations reaching 50,000 potential voters, registering over 7,500 new voters, providing more than 2,300 absentee ballot request and mobilizing 5,900 voters on Election Day.
As a senior staff either in government or business, it has always been my responsibility to work collaboratively with agencies, departments or individuals to develop the best strategy to maximize results. I am certain my experience will be an asset to the resolve of your goals and objectives.
My experiences, as a result of my travels throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America, either meeting with refugees displaced from violence or delivering medicines and other hospital supplies in remote villages will be an asset because first hand knowledge and experiences is priceless coupled with my ability to coordinate logistics to get the job done.
Further, I have coordinate Congressional Delegations to particular areas to bring international attention to the current challenges such as the almost 50 year struggle for self-determination struggle in Western Sahara by the Polisario Front; Choco, Colombia, to address the violence and displacement of the Afro-Colombian population and Managua, Nicaragua, to facilitate negotiations between the State Department and the two most influential parties in Nicaragua opening the doors for elections while reducing the fear that the U.S. government would interfere similarly to what was perceived as U.S. intervention in Venezuela politics and election.
Finally, I trust that this snapshot of my experience and background demonstrates my ability to successfully execute my responsibilities with resolve under extreme circumstances. I welcome the opportunity to answer your questions.
Teaching Style
I am flexible and adapt to the students ability to learn. Some people are auditory while others are visual and after an assessment, it is best to know which approach to take to best help someone learn.
My Hobbies
Adventurous yet love watching a good movie on Friday night so I'm quite eclectic.
