Teaching Style
Orton-Gillingham-influenced, simultaneously multisensory, explicit and systematic. I create a learning environment that is loving, encouraging, and enjoyable but still requires my students to work hard. Watching them flower in their abilities and confidence is one of the highlights of my life!
Other Comments
I am absolutely passionate about helping children and adults, who suffer both the academic and emotional effects of dyslexia. Reading and researching constantly, I intervene with strategies that are scientific and research-based. Working tirelessly to not only teach reading, spelling, and writing strategies, but also to boost the self-confidence of my students, I show them that with diligence and good instruction their hopes and dreams need not go unfulfilled just because they happen to be dyslexic.
