Experience Summary

Teaching Style
No two students enter a classroom with identical abilities, experiences, and needs. Therefore I structure learning environments that address the variety of learning styles, interests, and abilities found within the classroom. provide several learning options, or different paths to learning, which help students take in information and make sense of concepts and skills. Develop a separate lesson plan for each student in a classroom based on their present level of academic functioning. That is, I provide appropriate levels of challenge for all students, including those who lag behind, those who are advanced, and those right in the middle. Administer a learning style inventory to determine how my student’s best learn. Determine student interests. On a regular basis, ask students to identify topics that interest them and activities that occupy their non-school time.
Study the instructional goals and objectives for your subject established by your state's department of education. Identify the major concepts, principles, and skills students should learn. Brainstorm ideas for activities, tasks, and assessments that address a specific concept or skill. Ideas should cover a range of learning preferences, abilities, and interests. Brainstorm ways to vary my instructional delivery methods. Target auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners in my approaches. Identify alternative methods of assessing student performance and understanding. Assessment results should increase teacher understanding of students' abilities, interests, and needs, and should be incorporated into future planning.
I encourage thinking at various levels of Bloom's taxonomy. Use a variety of instructional delivery methods to address different learning styles. Break assignments into smaller, more manageable parts that include structured directions for each part. Choose broad instructional concepts and skills that lend themselves to understanding at various levels of complexity. Based on Process Provide access to a variety of materials which target different learning preferences and reading abilities. Develop activities that target auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Establish stations for inquiry-based, independent learning activities. Create activities that vary in level of complexity and degree of abstract thinking required. Use flexible grouping to group and regroup students based on factors including content, ability, and assessment results. Based on Product Use a variety of assessment strategies, including performance-based and open-ended assessment.

The barometer of success is not just measured in Dollars and Cents, but by one’s ability to make a difference in the lives of students – be it Exceptional, Gifted, Talented or General students ……instilling in each student an appreciation of education and that the learning process is never ending. In an environment of hope, managing students behavior with higher order thinking and motivation teaching them the skills of problem solving – skills exceptionally valuable to handle the minimal demands of daily living competently and to compete in this complex and technologically oriented society – a path that leads to self –esteem and success.
Finally, I will integrate into the methodology the notion that the world is culturally diverse and that diversity is strength, using a diverse technology, assessment and modification to develop a positive relationship with caregivers, interacting with other educational community members as a professional practitioner.
