Experience Summary
Hello,
I recently graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( routinely ranked as one of the best universities in the country and the world). My bachelor's degree is in Materials Science and Engineering. I absolutely love Math and Science. I believe that Math is the key to the universe and I love sharing that understanding with as many people as I can. I tutored a full range of math subjects while in high school and I loved lifting my students grades from failing to B's.
Teaching Style
I think a lot of many people have trouble with math because it is taught too abstractly. I love bringing in cool, high tech examples from the world around us to help communicate the basic mathematical or scientific concepts. Additionally, many people struggle with math because it builds upon itself. When tutoring, I make sure not only to focus on the immediate subject at hand but try to correct gaps in mathematical knowledge that are causing or will cause future problems.
