Experience Summary
As a dedicated educator with outstanding leadership skills and considerable experience in language
instruction, elementary education, and secondary education, I am writing to offer your organization the
expertise and insight acquired during the course of a career spanning two continents, multiple disciplines,
and more than 24 years.
My professional history has focused on language instruction, but breadth of experience—both
professional and personal—sets me apart from my peers. My own transition to the United States informs
my practice as an ESL teacher. My background as an ESL student gives me an awareness of English
grammar and usage that is often second nature to the native speaker, and this awareness helps me to
make linguistic concepts clear to students who have grown up speaking English. My unique background
also informs my approach to elementary and secondary teaching in diverse subjects. I am dedicated to
my own ongoing professional development, and I am committed to sharing my expertise as a mentor and
peer leader. I am a dynamic, dedicated education professional with more than 24 years of international
experience in diverse academic settings. I am adept at developing outstanding curricula, writing
successful grants, and providing strategic leadership. I am a holder of the Educator of The Year 2010
Award and Teacher Feature Award (2011).
