There are no stupid question. You can achieve anything you set your mind to. A little about Me: Although I have not been in a classroom for very long, my experience in teaching is not as accredited as others, however I do feel I am qualified. I taught for six months at my old high school in Bonner Springs Kansas as a Biology teacher. Before that I taught right out of college as a Title 1 Teacher at Edwardsville Elementary for "At Risk students". For my teaching style I do a lot of "think pair share stuff". So students develop ideas, discuss them with a partner, and then talk as a class. I may also try various activities to keep students engaged.

About Me

Experience Summary

Although my experience as a teacher appears brief, I feel I have the knowledge in my subject to help students learn and enjoy science. I taught for one year as a High school Biology teacher at Bonner Springs Ks. I also taught as a Title 1 Teacher at Edwardsville Elementary in Kansas City. My wife and I moved here the summer of '10 for her OBGYN residency. I am currently working as a Software Analyst for MSB here in Wauwatosa WI.

Teaching Style

Teaching is an art that requires two things: Passion and Preparation. A teacher, regardless of his/her subject of interest, should be passionate about his/her profession as well as organized and skilled in the art of teaching. I intend to nurture both of these characteristics before I set foot in a classroom for the first time and for all of my remaining years as a teacher. Teaching, in my mind, is about making a difference in the lives of others. My goal as a science teacher is not to make biologists, astronauts, or doctors out of each and every one of my students, or to create them in my image, rather, it is to help them realize their own potential through the learning and modeling that will go on inside and outside my classroom. I hope to nurture the critical, imaginative thinking and working skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives. In my classroom, students will learn to respect and appreciate nature and science, and they will see the world around them slightly differently than how they did before being in my class. This learning and modeling will take many distinct shapes and forms, but in the end I hope my students will leave my classroom feeling good about themselves; feeling like they have learned something new a new fact, a new idea, a new question. My subject of interest is, as you may have guessed, is Science, so My Philosophy on Teaching is focused on the Sciences. It is divided into two sections. The first section describes the things I believe to be the most important characteristics of a Science Classroom. The second section describes the personal characteristics I wish to possess as a teacher of science

My Hobbies

My hobbies are spending time with family and friends, taking my English Springer Spaniel to the park and on runs. I like to work out, my wife and I are on a Volleyball league. I really enjoy reading and staying up to date with science through one of my favorite magazines "Scientific America". I also like to read books from John Sanford.
