The seminars included some of the best practices available, including Multiple Intelligences and Responsive Classroom approaches.
I am currently employed by Minneapolis and Osseo Public Schools. My desire is to help students reach their full potential with understanding and pride. I celebrate knowledge. I am the author of four books and over a thousands articles and essays.
Teaching Style
I approach teaching with patience and optimism for each student. In writing the most important and thing is a clear idea and a great structure to present that idea. I will teach students the basic structure of an essay or article and a technique to build upon that structure. Once the students have a structure for their idea, the only activity left is reading and research.
The student will discover in the process of reading and research how the ideas will fit together. This awareness it due to the knowledge of document structure, including cause and effect, comparison and contrast, problem, need and solution, process and procedure as well as argument and persuasion. These structures fit the majority of non-fiction writing.
My Hobbies
In my spare time, I may write short articles or blog about some current event. Other times I go out and shoot photography downtown or in some area that offers a beautiful landscape setting. In addition, I am an avid chess player. I won an award at a chess tournament at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
