Speech therapy observation, Norton Elementary. Gainesville, FL October 2011- February 2012 • Observed on October 2011-Febuary 2012 for two hours each visit • Assisted the speech pathologist to keep deaf and hard-of-hearing children focused • Participated in their daily speech exercises Deaf Story-telling Festival, Pentecostal Church. Gainesville, FL May 2011-May2012 • Took part in observing Deaf story-telling from several Deaf participants • Participated in group activities with Deaf participants • Conversed with several Deaf participants about their stories

Teaching Style

I'm personally a visual learner so I tend to teach the same way I learned. I think repetition is important when learning and retaining ASL.

My Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my yellow lab. When I'm not at home I enjoy participating in deaf community events and I enjoy going to Farmers Markets.

This is one of my top subjects! Proficiency: Experienced

I'm working on becoming an interpreter; because I'm not an interpreter yet I do not consider my self an expert. I've participated in several Deaf Culture events. I completed all of my ASL classes at the University of Florida under a deaf professor. Although I graduated with a B.A in Linguistics I was very involved in ASL, and will continue to be in my graduate program as a Speech Pathologist and future Audiologist.
