Experience Summary
Before heading over to college, I tutored children whose ages range from pre-school to high school. I tutored them in math, science, grammar, and piano. Class size ranged from 1 to 15. During the years, we have formed a strong bond, and I make it a point in my return trips home to see them! As a result, I form a connection with those that I tutor in order to understand their way of thinking and maximize learning. Each child is unique, and I try my hardest to fit the child’s needs. If your child is active, that is okay! I am enthusiastic and energetic. If your child is shy, that is okay! I am friendly and light-hearted.
While in college, I focused on tutoring elementary and middle schoolers in math, science, and grammar. Moreover, I tutored college students in general chemistry, biology, and physics. Therefore, I have the ability to teach children who have a wide range of educational backgrounds. Also, tutoring has provided me with experience in speaking to people of all ages and backgrounds. Throughout my frequent encounters with children, I came to realize that they are like wet cement-- whatever falls on them leaves a lasting impression. Therefore, I strive to make a positive difference in a child's life through my daily actions and words. I understand the great importance they have in this world.
Education has always been important to me. I have always enjoyed seeing a person’s face light up when they reach their “Eureka!” moments in their studies, and being a part of that process has always given me delight. Currently, I am continuing my passion in spreading knowledge by volunteering as a tutor at Over the Rhine.
Aside from tutoring, taking rigorous science and math courses in college has taught me how to be organized and punctual. I have never been late to work or have missed a deadline. I am only preparing myself for the MCATs, so I have a flexible schedule. Please feel free to contact me. I would love to meet and talk to you about possibilities!
