01/2008- Present Tutor in ASL Los Angeles & Orange
For a little over four years I have tutored all ages in American Sign
Language. From infants and their parents, school age children to
college students. Taught ASL vocabulary, simple sentences, one word
communication for infants, then more complex paragraphs
with proper ASL grammar and ASL stories.
Teaching Style
I am definitely a believer in full-immersion for the students that i tutor. I also balance that with being completely comprehensive - I want them to understand their teachers, who may or may not be Deaf themselves. My goal is to be a mediator for the students i work with, and make the experience less stressful and more importantly, FUN!
My Hobbies
Poetry writing, singing, and playing my guitar.
Other Comments
I want to make sure that you understand concepts- anything from Classifiers, Facial Expressions, to how to remember that sign you saw.
