Experience Summary
I have taught two sections of an introductory biology laboratory (Bio181) at the University of Arizona in 2011. Each section is three hours long and I prepare the lectures and weekly quizzes. I also grade lab reports, computer assignments, lab projects and hold office hours for two hours each week. In addition, I attend a three-hour organizational weekly meeting with other instructors and the course director (Bruce Patterson).
I have also been a teaching assistant for Cell Biology (MCB410). I attended all lectures, held office hours each week, graded quizzes and exams.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2011 with a minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. The following year I received my Masters Degree from the University of Arizona in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I am currently working on my Masters in Genetic Counseling at the University of Cincinnati.
Teaching Style
I tailor my teaching to the needs of my students. I like using their textbooks and assigning problems to do from the book since that will be material most likely tested. I also go over their homework assignments given by the instructor and can make up problems if the student requires the extra practice.
My Hobbies
I have worked in a research laboratory for three years studying Mucolipidosis type IV and have even published papers! I love science and hope to help you love, or at the very least appreciate, science as well.
