Experience Summary
I have always enjoyed working with kids- it is rewarding to see young students experience the learning process. I've been a special education teacher for the past 3 years in a large school district in Omaha, Nebraska. There, I worked with all types of students with varying learning styles and disabilities. I lead many interventions and small groups in the areas of behavior skills, reading comprehension, writing, grammar and mathematics. I am trained in several intervention programs such as Do The Math, ABLLS, and Start-In. I already have many of the materials.
Teaching Style
I have always believed, in order to be a good teacher, you must teach to the varying needs of students and realize, not all children learn the same way. I am very versatile in my teaching strategies- if a program isn't working, I rely on data and feedback to adjust my teaching. I am also very creative and will strive to make learning challenging and fun!
My Hobbies
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, singing, biking, spending time with my family and friends.
