Experience Summary
I am a 25-year marketing and media professional with extensive experience in speaking, writing and training. My career has touched many disciplines withing marketing communications: research, strategy, concept development, copy writing, media production, sales and staff development. I also have a background in broadcast communications and currently host a weekly radio show. I have worked with students, trainees/interns, staff, management, clients and other stakeholders as a leader, facilitator, coach or one-to-one trainer. I often derive the greatest satisfaction in my career through educating, persuading and motivating individuals and groups.
Teaching Style
My teaching style involves developing a rapport with a student (trainee, client, etc) to determine that person's temperament, level of comfort or anxiety (regarding subject matter) and trust level with me. I use humor and a down-to-earth approach to establish the relevancy and scope of a challenge, and try to create a sense of mutual ownership (with the student) for solving or meeting that challenge. My method is to generally break projects/problems into smaller, more "digestible" steps, highlighting a series of "wins" for the student in the gradual understanding and mastery of subject matter.
My Hobbies
sports of all kinds, chess, singing, piano, cards, board games, tinkering on projects
