Experience Summary
I have a great deal of experience working with ESL students, and in general study skills for both elementary, and adult aged students. I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History with a minor in Modern Languages from FSU, and a certificate of study from Berklee College of Music in Electronic Production and Design. I have taught music at an international school in the Republic of Panama, worked as a Tier 2 Reading Interventionist for Boston Public Schools, tutored in after-school time programs, as well as in home tutoring, and taught ESL and Spanish to adult learners at Rola Languages in the Back Bay. I have taught guitar, voice, and bass, as well as general music theory.
Teaching Style
I would consider my teaching style firm, but not without a sense of humor. I try to keep a clear perspective and identify the students needs in the moment and for the long term. I am a musician so I encourage my students to find the balance I seek in my own practice between disciplined hard work, and knowing when to reflect; whether I am teaching music, or anything else.
