Experience Summary
I have been a professional bassist and bass educator for 20 years. I have recently moved to San Diego where I play for the Old Globe and the La Jolla Playhouse theatre productions. Before moving to beautiful SD, I lived and worked in NYC playing for broadway shows and touring productions such as Jersey Boys, Evita, and Next to Normal. I have also played on numerous television commercials, CDs, and with various singer songwriters.
Teaching Style
I build a comprehensive lesson plan tailored around the student's individual skills and goals. I provide an energetic, fun learning environment for my students. I focus on several main pillars of bass playing such as developing good time, good tone, learning to groove with a drummer, and playing with taste. I am unique in the bass lesson world, because unlike most bass teachers, I am a bassist and not a guitar player.
