To Whom it May Concern:
This letter is to express my interest in a position with your company. I am a graduate from California State University, Northridge majoring in graphic design, and currently looking for a position at a company where I can expand my skills while being an active part of a creative team. I am sure that my friendly, conscientious and hard-working attitude will be a positive addition to any business.
I have a wealth of experience with both Mac and PC operating systems, Microsoft Office and the Adobe Design Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver and Flash. I am also skilled in Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Sound Cut Pro. However my experience with computers and design exceeds my school training. Being hired by the University I attended, to design the University Catalog for 2010 to 2012, has been the largest design project I’ve worked on so far-involving styling the text of the entire book which exceeded 600 pages, as well as designing the cover. Other non-formal print experience I’ve had includes: poster design, editorial design and information graphics design.
With the rapidly changing technology of modern day, I also found it important to learn graphic design skills outside of the world of print. Web design and motion graphics are growing industries, and I have been trained in both areas. Coincidentally, a motion graphics piece I have created is scheduled to show at the California State University, Northridge Art Gallery show entitled Tales of our Time: Two Contemporary Chinese Artists, and is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2010. In this piece I address the works of the two artists and introduce the issues with which their art is related.
