Experience Summary
As someone who is pursuing a PhD in epidemiology, I have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and reaching out to students. I expect excellence from students because I invest 100% of my time and effort into their learning experience. I also hold an MPH in public health and a BS in Biology.
During my academic career, I have written and/or contributed to several research articles. Also, for the past year, I have been working as a teaching assistant (TA) at a university, where I hold office hours for students to come in and ask questions on epidemiological concepts that may not be so clear. Because this subject area requires both knowledge of science and math, I am well-versed in various areas of science and math.
Teaching Style
I am an enthusiastic person by nature. I love meeting with students and learning from them as they learn from me. I believe this establishes a relationship based on mutual respect, which is highly conducive to learning. I am also a firm believer in engaging students in critical thinking, and having them walk me through their thought process, which would allow me to not only see how they learn, but also improve upon it.
