Experience Summary
My undergraduate degree is in Mathematics and have held a Florida Temporary Certification to teach Math (6-12) and taught in Florida High Schools. I currently tutor Math at Hillsborough Community College Ybor campus; if you are an HCC student my services in the ASC are free - come find me. I have taken both the GRE (top 15%)and GMAT (top 11%). I earned my MBA and MHA at the University of Florida. I taught GMAT Test Prep for Kaplan and held two appointments as an adjunct professor. I have also recently taught College Math for a private for-profit school. I am familiar and comfortable with both online (WebEx™) and classroom teaching technology (PowerPoint). I have tutored elementary school through college students. If you have friends that would like to form a study group I can arrange for special rates that will make it less expensive for each participant.
Teaching Style
I use dry erase boards and lots of colors to help define concepts. I enjoy teaching and season my lessons with humor. I have family members with ADHD and Asperger's so I am familiar with special needs students. Math is your friend - do not be afraid. If there is one way to solve a problem there are several - let's find the one that works for you.
Other Comments
If you are using GI Bill chapter 30, 33 or VOC REHAB benefits the VA will pay up to $100/month ($1,200/year) in addition to your monthly benefit for tutoring. I also offer special rates for anyone using their GI Bill, veterans or active military and their families or those taking the ASVAB.
