Experience Summary
I have tutored privately various students at the college level for short terms in elementary physics(<200 level), chemistry(<400 level), mathematics(<500 level), and biology(<300 level). I have also tutored part time in English and SAT preperation for nearly a year (<12 hours a week) with certified tutoring services, a small company here in Honolulu. I have earned a B.S. in mathematics from a university with extensive coursework in the hard sciences and liberal arts which prepare a well rounded science teacher. I hold a certificate in, and completed a one year lab (>1000 hours in lab and 18 credits outside ones major.) study in microbiological mathematics where mathematical modeling of cellular differentiation was researched .
Teaching Style
I believe that each child learns most effectively in a different way, which much be found to further consider a teaching style. Basically I love working with interested questioning minds. I try to inspire students to be self learners -becoming first inquisitive, and then solvers of their own inquiries. Massive amounts of work are required and it is best if the student of science is interested and inquisitive if all the material is to be grasped.
