Experience Summary
As a scholar who has studied both in the United States and abroad, I have a broad range of experiences that enable me to approach teaching with an unique outlook. The excellence of my education of course under-girds my ability to tutor and to teach; this education is grounded in both a Liberal Arts knowledge of Western literature and a graduate level focus on Irish literature. At Creighton and at Queen's, I wrote several in depth research papers that required research, literary analysis, organization, and well-developed writing skills. Throughout my academic career, I have acted as an informal tutor for friends and fellow students.
Teaching Style
I believe education begins in each individual's experience of life and, as such, I whole-heartedly endorse an approach that reflects and considers the individual student and his/her life. Additionally, I believe literature can and does relate to our everyday existence, teaching us about ourselves and our world. This is why I love literature and why I love teaching literature.
