Experience Summary
I have student teaching experience in physical science at the eighth grade level as well as biology at the high school level. I also have prior tutoring experience at a sylvan learning center where I tutored students in basic math, science homework support and ACT prep in science. I'm currently substitute teaching and tutoring a family of three children all in the sciences.
Teaching Style
I believe that all children have the potential to become successful, lifelong learners. I also believe that I have the kindness and patience that's required to work one-on-one with students and help explain difficult concepts in a way that they can understand. It is very important to listen to the students and ask them where they are having trouble, and help explain the concepts slowly and clearly. I also understand how some students may feel because I, too, needed a tutor at one time in high school.
