Experience Summary
I am a life long learner and interested in several different areas of study. During my BS degree, I majored in Biology and minored in mathematics and earned a teaching certificate. Then I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I developed and taught a “Business for Doctors” class at three different colleges. I also enjoyed maintaining my private practice. I then became an Executive Director of Education & Training for a Louisiana corporation. I wrote instructional manuals for company owned and franchise clinics and presented training seminars. I earned a MA degree in Guidance & Counseling & became a high school counselor. My primary goal has been to be an advocate for the students and teach them how to learn.
Teaching Style
I believe that every child can succeed in education. It is just a matter of finding the correct learning style for that person. This is based on my experience in education over the past 30 years. I have taught in colleges, corporations and K-12. In each of these arenas, I have found that knowing the student and the way they learn is probably the most important aspect of imparting knowledge. Therefore, my teaching style would vary considerably depending on the learning style of the person. I am patient and creative with a love of life-long learning. It is my goal in education to impart on students that love of learning.
