Experience Summary
I received my B.A. in English from Appalachian State University where I also received training in education. Afterward, I became an instructor at Richmond Community College, teaching basic reading and math to adults with learning disabilities as well as a course on PC literacy & business training. In addition to classroom instruction, I've had one-on-one experience tutoring university students in English and Learning Skills.
Teaching Style
I strongly believe that the success of education depends on how well it targets a student's learning style and values. Everyone can learn, but individual attention is a vital part of that. We don't all learn the same way or at the same speed, and these differences should be addressed in a positive and creative way to both convey the subject material and strengthen a student's ability to learn in the future.
