Experience Summary
I am an accomplished Exceptional Teacher with five years experience in providing Resource and Moderate Intervention Services to students with disabilities in grades K-12. I have also recently completed the special education teacher certification program through the University of Tennessee at Martin. My experience in the elementary, middle, and high school setting is backed by a recent advanced degree in Curriculum and Instruction concentration Adult Education and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University. I am expected to receive full licensure in Exceptional Education K-12 in May 2010 upon completion of the Reading across the Curriculum Praxis exam.
Teaching Style
I believe that there is no single approach to effective teaching. My most important responsibility is to ensure highest academic achievement for all students. I am passionate about developing and encouraging young minds. An effective educator must posses certain skills in order to ensure high academic achievements for students such as being able to develop strong relationship with parents, students, and co-teachers, giving all students respect and fairness, taking the time to listen, praising accomplishments, encouraging students to correct their mistakes, inspiring students by being an effective role model, and instilling an appreciating for the students' local and global community.
